Let’s GET TO WORK

As Alabama recovers economically from the devastating impacts of COVID-19, we still have a long way to go to increase workforce participation and employee shortages in specific industries, such as medical providers, healthcare specialists, and teachers.

In fact, 62% of Alabama lives in an area where there is a shortage of primary care medical professionals. That’s why I was proud to sponsor a bill, that has since been enacted into law, that provides income tax credit incentives for certain health professions and students who train in rural and underserved counties across Alabama. That’s just one example of how we can attract and retain employees for targeted industries, but we can do much more!

Let’s get to work on improving our infrastructure so that new, innovative businesses will bring jobs and opportunities to our district. Let’s get to work on bolstering educational and training opportunities so that today’s students become tomorrow’s workers and leaders. Let’s get to work on reducing gun violence so that our communities are safe.

We’re better together because of what we can accomplish together.

Let’s get to work.
